INFO: Kesä 2010 Pietarissa. Ei edes hotelli Москваn aamupalablinejä siivittävä, jumalattoman kovaa soiva eurotrance vedä vertoja näkymälle, joka avautuu matkamuistokaupan ja tupakkanurkan takaa. Lattiasta kattoon, vieri vieressä teoksia kukka-asetelmista ekspressionistiseen roiskemereen, balettitanssijoista hämyisten kujien kulkijoihin. Valtaisa määrä alkuja, loppuja, henkilöitä, tilanteita, tavaroita ja tarinoita, jotka rakentuvat sitä mukaan, kun silmä malttaa hetkeksi pysähtyä.
Kuolemantanssiaiset Москваn tyyliin koostuu vuosien 2007 – 2012 aikana valmistuneista teoksista, jotka esittävät elämänmakuisia poimintoja tästä ja tuonpuoleisesta, arjesta ja juhlasta, koetusta ja kuvitellusta. Teoksista pursuava hysteria, kaaos, tunteen palo ja ohikiitävät hetket ovat kompaktisti paketoitu, mutta eivät kuitenkaan kesytettyjä. Ripustukseltaan näyttely tavoittelee Москваssa nähdyn kaltaista villiä vallattomuutta ja aasinsiltojen kautta syntyviä uusia yhdistelmiä. Suurin osa teoksista on ollut aiemmin esillä yksityisnäyttelyissä Turussa (2007, 2011) ja Tampereella (2010).
INFO: Summer 2010 in St. Petersburg, Russia. Not even the breakfast blinis or the loudly played euro trance in hotel Москва can compete with the sight which opens around the corner from the souvenir shop and smoker’s corner. From floor to the roof, side by side art works from flowerpots to expressionist color splashes and from ballet dancers to shady wanderers of empty streets. Endless amount of beginnings, the ends, characters and situations – stories, which start to evolve whenever one’s restless eye is able to stop for a second.
Dance of Death á la Москва exhibition contains a selection of works made during year 2007 – 2012. These works are vivid presentations of the life here and thereafter, every day life and celebration, imagined and experienced. The hysteria, chaos, extreme emotions and fleeting moments bursting out from the works are compactly packed, yet not tamed. The set-up of the exhibition – similar to the one seen at the hotel Москва – aims at creating a wild and frolic ground for new stories and combinations to develop in the mind of the viewer. The majority of the works have been exhibited previously in the solo exhibitions in Turku (2007, 2011) and in Tampere (2010.
